Cruise Ship & Island Travel Gear & Advice - http://goo.gl/wCdIV9 This is how to walk from the St. Thomas cruise ship port to downtown Charlotte Amalie. Charlotte Amalie is the best place to buy duty-free watches, jewelry and souvenirs in St. Thomas. It's a safe and easy walk from the cruise ship terminal in St. Thomas. Please note that all shops in Charlotte Amalie close by 6 PM during the week and sometimes at 2 PM on weekends. Avoid Charlotte Amalie after the shops close, as it could be mildly unsafe. I've explored both St. Thomas and St. John tip-to-tip and have never encountered any issues with crime though. I hope that you enjoy this video and please share this video with others. We visited Magens Bay Beach in St Thomas, USVI (US Virgin Islands) in December 2017. Even though it was winter, the weather was terrific and the waters not too cold at all. We were on a Eastern Caribbean cruise on the MSC Divina which docked at Charlotte Amalie. Taxi was $8 per person one way. The drive was about 30 minutes long, with a stop in downtown. Admission is $5, with kids 12 and under being free. It opens from 8 AM to 5 PM. Magen's Bay Beach & Park were very fun. The waves there were quite enjoyable. The waters were not super clear, but if you have some bread crumbs, you can attract a lot of BIG fish as you can see in our video when you snorkel or simply dive down and look around for a short time. There are life guards just in case. Since our cruise ship had an all-...

On September 6 2017 Hurricane Irma hit the Virgin islands. When Irma made her way thru the warm waters of the Caribbean her winds speed was so fierce the weather meteorologists had to make a new category (category six)to document Irma’s wind speeds of 257 mph. This timeline starts on September 5 and ends on September 7 after the storm hit hit Saint John...
This is the VIDEO we shot during week 2 of our family trip to St. Thomas. We spent time in Charlotte Amalie and Saphire Beach. Had fun with the Iguanas and saw the weather change a little as Hurricane Isaac was approaching.

(11 Sep 2017) A US Coast Guard Vessel arrived in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands on Sunday, to give assistance to residents in the wake of Hurricane Irma. United States Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Joseph Tenzanos travelled from San Juan in Puerto Rico, to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Hurricane Irma has ripped roofs off homes, collapsed buildings and caused floods along hundreds of miles of coast after cutting a trail of destruction across the Caribbean. Irma has killed at least 24 people in the region, leaving officials scrambling to bring aid to shattered communities. Residents in Charlotte Amalie were busy on Sunday, queuing for fuel and water in the storm-damaged town. St.Thomas in the Virgin Islands was so beautiful. 14 miles long & three miles across, St. Thomas has the largest population of the US Virgin Islands. Of the 40 beaches, Megan's Bay is most famous. The beaches are so beautiful .There is so much to do there and great deals on duty-free jewelry, timepieces, and electronics along Charlotte Amalie's Main Street. The hotel I stayed in was Best Western which had a free transport to the other side of the island to get to Emerald Beach which is another part of Best Western Hotel. Another interesting fact I learned is that the driving is on the left hand side so everything seemed so odd for someone like me taking a vacation from New York just seemed so backwards. Second fact is that if traveling from the US all you need is your I.d card and not a p...
